Weathering the Storm

Tips and Tools for Riding Out the Tempest

Countless nonprofits, ministries and businesses are struggling to ride out the stormy seas caused by the most challenging economic times since the Great Depression.  In this session, a veteran of four decades of work with many of the world's leading Christian organizations introduces core principles and practices that are relevant to all organizations at all times, but especially relevant in today's demanding environment.

Speaker:                   Dr. Larry F. Johnston, President, McConkey/Johnston International

Larry has spent 40 years working with nonprofits, consulting internationally with leading Christian organizations in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Latin America and Asia.  He has trained thousands of executives, leaders, managers, development staff, board members and volunteers, and regularly lectures at conferences internationally.  With a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems, his personal mission is equipping and empowering Christian organizations for extraordinary service.  He is the creator of Donor Value Mapping® and Donor Value Management®, leading edge processes that enable organizations to maximize donor lifetime value by maximizing donor satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.  He can most easily be reached by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Christian Networking Opportunity:

·         Networking is consistently rated as one of the BEST things about attending CLA

·         Program will end by 9 AM, but mark your calendar for 9:30 AM to stay and build your network

Who Should Attend?

·         Mid & Senior management who are responsible for development and finance for your church, ministry, or business.

·         Sr. managers and Board members who are responsible for guiding your organization through this tough economic time.

·         CLA National members, particularly if you haven't been to a chapter meeting recently.

·         Christian Chamber of Commerce members or interested parties.

·         All are welcome to attend including non-members of CLA.

·         Please pass this e-mail along to a friend who might benefit from this speaker

Larry Johnston's program will include Practical Ideas and Information that you can Use Immediately in your ministry, church or business.  This includes:

·         Three universal principles without which you can't be strategic.

·         Achieving alignment: why your "problems" are merely symptoms of something deeper.

·         The call of the cosmograph and why this is one of the most important segmentation steps nonprofits and businesses will ever take.

·         The segmentation matrix: how to apply the parable of the sower to your donor base and dramatically improve your return-on-investment (ROI) in the process.

·         A frequency analysis:  how it can make you a better manager, fundraiser and steward, all in one tool.

·         One of the most important audits too many managers never do.

·         Assessing your power-to-weight ratio: a consideration of pumpers, thumpers, jumpers and dumpers

·         And more, including answers to your specific questions

I hope you can join us March 18th.  If you aren't working for a local church, please pass this along to your own church staff and lay leadership.  This would be an excellent session for your Executive Pastor or Chair of the church Finance committee to attend.

Our CLA breakfast meetings are also a great place to network with other Christian leaders (so bring your business cards!)

Have a blessed day!

Dick
